Help to promote responsible dog ownership
The Kennel Club is offering Responsible Dog Ownership packs to assist local authorities in promoting this important message in their community.
Aimed at local councils and dog wardens, the pack provides information about the Kennel Club Responsible Dog Ownership campaign, which is designed to promote and encourage responsible ownership to everyone with a dog as an antidote to negative attitudes surrounding dog ownership.
The campaign focuses on the need for dog training - particularly through the Good Citizen Dog Scheme, cleaning up after your dog, and pet identification through microchipping.
The Kennel Club believes that responsible dog ownership is vital for all communities, which is why it is providing local authorities with leaflets, posters, dog waste bags and dog waste bin stickers to display and distribute in their local area, reinforcing the important messages of being a responsible dog owner.
Kennel Club spokesperson, Caroline Kisko said, “The Kennel Club is committed to educating dog owners everywhere about the importance of responsible ownership. By providing all the information necessary to educate dog owners, we are hoping that local authorities can help our campaign by actively promoting this message and helping to highlight the positive relationship that owning a dog can bring.
“Our goal is to ensure that all dog owners are well-informed and subsequently welcomed by their local community, rather than frowned upon for spoiling public spaces or causing distress through nuisance or bad behaviour.”
The Responsible Dog Ownership pack includes;
- A KC Dog folder (and welcome letter) (x 1)
- Bin stickers (x 20)
- Responsible Dog Ownership Leaflets (x 250)
- Responsible Dog Ownership Posters (x 21)
- Dog waste bags (x 500)
