It's never too late to learn
‘You can’t teach an old dog new tricks’ – or so the saying goes. Here at mypetstop® we don’t agree. We run specialised classes for older dogs that haven’t done any formal training before. At mypetstop® Newcastle we had an 11 year old Springer Spaniel join our adult foundation course. Having been rescued as a Golden Oldie by his new owner she felt he could benefit from learning a few doggy manners and skills. He soon proved that an old dog can learn and went on to pass his Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze award.
At a mypetstop® foundation course you and your dog will learn the basics to ensure that every aspect of dog ownership is enjoyable. You’ll learn exercises such as how to teach your dog to walk on a loose lead and to come back when called.
Our purpose built indoor training arena is the ideal place for you and your dog to learn new skills. To ensure you and your dog get the most from your training course at mypetstop® we restrict the number of dogs per class.
Some dogs and owners don’t relish the thought of attending a class; perhaps the environment with other dogs will prove too stressful. For some people it’s just not possible to commit to attending a course. At mypetstop® we also offer one to one sessions, where you and your dog will benefit from individual attention from one of our trainers.
