Doggy Day Camp, Four Legged Trainers
Many dogs love to play with their doggy friends and as a result Doggy Day Camp is becoming increasingly popular at all three of our centres. In addition we have just launched a brand new service whereby dogs that are in boarding can have a fun filled hour in Doggy Day Camp for only £4. Before dogs can start attending Doggy Day Camp, owners must first complete a questionnaire telling us all about their dog. Following this the dog is invited for an assessment to test the dog’s sociability and suitability for Doggy Day Camp. This is where the four legged trainers play a vital role; well trained dogs of known sound temperament, that belong to mypetstop team members, are used to assess the temperament of the potential Doggy Day Camper.
Meet the Leeds Team:
Kiwi – 1½ year old Australian shepherd with plenty of energy to burn! Kiwi loves the exercise and play she gets in Doggy Day Camp.
Spice – 1½ year old Italian Spinone. Although she is still only young herself Spice adopts the role of grandma in the group looking after all Doggy Day Campers.
Kiwi and Spice are the original four legged trainers at Leeds and are currently helping to train up the new recruits.
Kai – 8½ year old cross breed Kai is the veteran of the team. Kai was recently assessed by Spice and passed his four legged trainer test with flying colours.
Daisy Woof – Daisy is a German Shorthaired Pointer. Only born in April she is the youngest in the group, but is already loving the company and socialisation that Doggy Day Camp brings.
Kairo – Kairo is a Dogue de Bordeaux and was born in March. She is the shy pup of the group but is benefiting from the interaction with the other dogs and it helps bring out her playful side.
Daisy and Kairo are trainee four legged trainers and are at the moment too young to take their assessment, but they are both already having a great time socialising and making new friends in Doggy Day Camp.
